Sweet Shaker -- Layers at International Art & Soul

Our theme this fortnight at the International Art & Soul Challenge is Layer It Up.

I attended the Stamp & Scrapbook Expo in Mesa, Arizona, in September with my Mom & her crafty friends. We had lots of fun, and of course I got some great deals, which I used to make this card. The popsicle-shaped shaker & fruit sprinkles are from Queen & Co.; the fruit & polka-dot paper is from Doodlebug; the double popsicle & cherry dies are from Spellbinders; the lemons are from Elizabeth Craft Designs; and the striped paper is from the Expo's handbook! The sentiment die-cut is also from Spellbinders, but from my stash. I even decorated the inside.

CAS at Crafting with Dragonflies

Our challenge this fortnight at Crafting with Dragonflies is Clean & Simple (CAS).I used some dragonfly stickers & microglitter that I got from Elizabeth Craft Designs at the the Stamp & Scrapbook Expo in Mesa, Arizona. I must say I was a bit starstruck meeting their founder, Els, after following Elizabeth Craft Designs online for so many years!

Els did a make-and-take one night. She was so nice, and she & Mom chatted about how beautiful Holland is.

She also did demos on using the outline stickers with microglitter -- she's obviously done this a million times!

I had promised myself that I wouldn't buy any more outline stickers, since I have a ton, but I needed these dragonfly ones, plus some yummy microglitter from their booth! Here's my card:

The sentiment is cut with a Spellbinders die from a piece of paper I glittered using a sheet of adhesive, the same technique I used for the dragonflies. I backed the front, shiny white panel with a silver mirri cardstock, and added 3 colors of Stickles (because, as my Mom always says, Stickles make everything better!)

And here's me at the Expo:

Pilin' On the One Layer Cards

The themes this month at Pile It On are Think Big (Large shapes; enlarged image; Big words, etc) and/or One Layer Card (paper piecing and limited embellishments OK). You can choose one or both themes, and you may enter the challenge as many times you like, as long as you are inspired by at least one other Challenge theme. We're sponsored by Angie's Digital Stamps.

For my card, I started with a card a friend stenciled during a craft day we had a few years ago (the stencil came free with a magazine). She wasn't happy with how it came out, but I thought it was really pretty and promised I would do something with it. Better late than never!

I added the sentiment with two clear stamps using Memento inks. The border was made using silver stickers that I colored with Copic markers. I finished the card with wooden stars that I heat-embossed in various colors.

The Natural World at International Art & Soul

Our theme this fortnight at the International Art & Soul Challenge is The Natural World. I used a beautiful stencil that was gifted to me from Hilde, the coordinator of Crafting with Dragonflies who has been a real support to me over the years. The Woodgrain stamp is from Raisin Boat; I rented it years ago, and just found this embossed piece in my stash. The sentiment is from Echo Park's Alice in Wonderland set, and the cattails are from Repeat Impressions.

Shakey Cycle -- Any Card Goes at Crafting with Dragonflies

Our challenge this fortnight at Crafting with Dragonflies is Anything Goes (cards only). I used some of my favorite bicycle-themed items from my stash to make this shaker card.

The cloud shaker containers are from Jillibean Soup. The two bicycles & the word bubble are wood veneer pieces that I decorated with embossing powders.  I filled the shakers with a fix of plastic confetti & yellow microbeads & clear glass beads. I also decorated the inside.

Sew Special -- Buttons & Washi with the Unstampabelles

Our theme this month at the UnstampaBelles challenge is Button Art, with the optional twist of Washi Tape. You need to follow the twist to be considered as the DT Favorite, but you only have to follow main theme to win our prize. And remember, no stamps!

The heart and card base are a shiny paper. I created the background with some of my favorites from my tape collection! I created the sentiment on my computer using the Home Sweet Home font, and added a little bow I found in my stash. The buttons are from a one-pound bag my sweet husband bought for my birthday a couple of years ago.

Recycling at International Art & Soul

Our theme this fortnight at the International Art & Soul Challenge is Use a Non-Craft Item/Recycle. I've been taking a break from the team, but I chose this theme and had to pop back in! My recycled item is the coffee cup sleeve, which is made from an actual coffee cup sleeve!

The coffee cup aperture was cut with the Coffee Cup Shaker Box Card by 17turtles/Juliana Michaels. I filled it with three colors of microbeads & die-cut coffee beans (Elizabeth Craft).

Pilin' On the Big ideas

The theme this month at Pile It On is Think Big (Large shapes; enlarged image; Big words, etc). The only really rule is to be inspired by more than one papercrafting challenge. We're sponsored by Angie's Digital Stamps, and I used her Cowboy Hat with Boots digi stamp.

I used a large cling stamp from Stampendous for the background and to decorate the letters. I heat-embossed it in white for the background, and stamped it in black for the letters. I cut the letters in the Blackoak Std font on my Silhouette Cameo. I colored the image with Copic markers.
