Moony Unicorns -- Recycling at International Art and Soul

This fortnight at the International Art & Soul Challenge our challenge is Recycle. My recycled item is the blue mesh bag that our Christmas pearl onions came in. They took forever to peel, but Mom cooks them with molasses & orange juice and are a delicious holiday tradition.

Mom also gifted me these beautiful Graphic 45 papers and moon-themed & sentiment die sets. Of course I couldn't wait to use them all!

I made a double shaker: The moon & stars die-cut is over acetate, and is also underneath a layer of acetate. There are gold stars under the moon, and blue sequins (and 2 unicorns!) above it. This wasn't as time-consuming as it sounds; I used die-cuttable adhesive foam & acetate. I adhered the blue mesh, which I cut into a frame, with glitter glue. The words are die-cut from a very shimmery gold paper; this photo doesn't do it justice!

I finished the card with a Birthday sentiment and some decoration to the inside:

  1. Your card is beautiful. I've never seen a blue net bag but I'm going to watch out for them now. Hazel x

  2. This card is absolutely gorgeous my friend! I have never tried to peel pearl onions before but I have peeled garlic and I know it's a pain.
