Manly Poops -- Tags at International Art & Soul

This fortnight at the International Art & Soul Challenge our challenge is Tags. You can make a tag or add one to your project.

When I saw the current "Gross" challenge at the Sisterhood of the Snarky Stampers, I knew I had to use the cute poop emoji die that I borrowed from my mom. It's part of an emoji die/embossing set from Sizzix. I had lots of fun!

The sentiment is from Viva Las Vegas Stamps, and reads: The only time a woman can change a man is when he's a baby! I have a 9-month-old son, and our life has definitely become pretty poop-centric. The last time I used this stamp, it was for a card for his now 6-year-old cousin!

Thankful Baby Shake -- Special Event / Celebration at Crafting with Dragonflies

It's the 2nd week of Special Event / Celebration at Crafting with Dragonflies. If you haven't joined us yet, you still have time!

As you may know, my husband & I are expecting our first child in December! So I've been making a lot of thank-you cards. Here's a trifold card made as a thank-you for a lovely stroller.

The base is a double-sided KaiserCraft paper. The rattle-shaped shaker is from Queen & Co., which Mom treated me to at the Stamp & Scrapbook Expo in Mesa, Arizona, in September.

First fold open:
I've included a photo of our 13-year-old dog Walt with the ultrasound in all our thank-you cards. He looks so cute and slightly apprehensive!

Open completely (message written in the middle panel):
I used two embossing folders on the gold paper, and added some Washi tape.

Super Baby -- Pilin' on the Primary Colors

Our theme at Pile It On is Primary Colors (Red, Yellow, Blue). The only real rule is to be inspired by more than one papercrafting challenge. We're sponsored by KennyK Stamps.
KennyK Stamps has closed its doors on June 30, 2017. We have had such fun working with the team here at Pile It On and loved seeing all the wonderful cards and talent by the DT and those that have entered the challenges! If you have any questions about our closing you can read our FAQ here or email us at stamps@kennykstamps.comRock Your Crafts with KennyK Stamps!

I made this Pop Up Box Card for my BIL's family, who are expecting their third girl. The star of the show is the Baby Kaboom digi stamp by KennyK Stamps, hidden within the fold of card, and the other super hero images are from Melonheadz Illustrating. The papers are all from the "Comic Heroes" paper pack from Recollections.

The circle on the flap on the back is a quote from the song "Power of Love" left-over from a card I made two years ago! The sentiment on the front is a sticker. The buildings were were with a Memory Box die.All the images are on Action Wobbles.

Inspiration/Challenges:
Aud Sentiments Challenge #183: For a Child + Sentiment
Creative Knockouts #200: For the Girls
Cut it Up: Patriotic / Red, White, and Blue + Die Cuts

Starry Stork -- Baby Cards with Crafting with Dragonflies

This fortnight at Crafting with Dragonflies our theme is Baby Cards.

I used the fork trick to make the bow with seam binding from Paper Sweeties. I added extra color to the ribbon with my Frost Blue Copic marker, which also stiffened it. I tied the silver stork charm onto it.

I stamped the trio of stars in Orange (Craft Smart), Baja Blue & Coral (Quick Quotes) inks. The stamp was made with a bottle cork & wood veneer stars, as inspired by Hand Made Kultur.

The card base is from the cloud shaker card kit by Jillibean Soup. I used ZipDry silicon glue to wrap the plastic cloud with a coral-colored, polka-dotted ribbon from my stash. I filled the shaker with orange & blue glitter shapes (Recollections) and sealed it with a piece of scrap acetate.

Inspiration/Challenges:
colourQ: Combo #335
Craft-Dee BowZ: Handmade Bow
The Crazy Challenge: New Baby
Simon Says Stamp Monday Challenge: Transparent

Update: Wow, this was chosen as a Designer Spotlight for the We Can See Clearly Challenge at SSSMC!
Thank you for visiting, and hope you'll join us at Crafting with Dragonflies,

Non-traditional Baby Card with the UnstampaBelles

This April, the UnstampaBelles are challenging you to make a Non-traditional Baby project. You can link up your projects until the end of the month, but remember that you can't use ANY STAMPS (digi or otherwise).

I made a vintage-style card to celebrate a new "fur baby" ...  adopting a pet can be a real life-changing experience, as I well know.

The inside of the card was inspired by the Flag Book technique. I winged it, but it came out great. It's a bit difficult to see in this photo, but each gray piece is folded in half and cut down to create the flag. I placed the gray pieces slightly away from the center fold of the card so that the flags pop out.

Obviously, I was inspired by the fun "Cats & Dogs" paper collection by Graphic 45. I used it for my base card, as well as for all of the images. I made the "Welcome Home" sentiment in SCAL and cut it from black paper & silver vinyl on my Silhouette Cameo.

The background frame on the front is packaging from a bag of dog food. We buy our dry dog food is large bags, and my husband got a smile from seeing the top edge of the nag being cut off ... he knew it was for crafting purposes! The charm is from Maya Road.

Inspiration/Challenges:
Crafty Hazelnut's Patterned Paper: Anything goes with Patterned Paper
Dream it Up: Showers of Showers
Open-Minded Challenge #34: Recycle (dog food bag)
Simon Says Stamp: April Showers and/or Spring Flowers
Sisterhood of Crafters: April Showers

Just for fun, here are photos of our dogs way back when... they are known around the neighborhood as "the children" as they are enthusiastic barkers but everyone knows they are sweeties too!
Walt, 2006

Allen, 2007

Be sure to check out the fabulous projects by my teamies and hope you'll join us this month at UnstampaBelles!

Glittery wishes at OSAAT

OSAAT December Prize Pack
This fortnight at One Stitch at a Time (OSAAT), our theme is Anything Goes with Glitter. StitchyBear's Digi Outlet has hundreds of digital products from many wonderful artists. Even if you don't use a store image, you'll still be in the drawing to win the super-duper December prize pack.

Using my Silhouette Cameo, I cut It's a Girl by Floppy Latte Designs from a shiny white paper. I took out some of the cut-out ieces and colored them green with a Copic. I backed the main piece with an adhesive-covered cardstock, re-added the cut-outs, and covered the whole with with a peach glitter. I added contrast to the sentiment with a pink Copic. All the patterned papers are by Graphic 45.

Inspiration/Challenges:
Paper Shelter Challenge #185: Special Celebration
Penny's Paper-Crafty #207: Anything but Christmas
Southern Girls: Celebrations (new baby)
Sparkle N Sprinkle: Anything Goes with Loose Glitter, Embossing Powder and/or Flocking (2nd entry)

Thank you for visiting and hope you'll join us at One Stitch at a Time,

Baby blog hop at Crafting with Dragonflies

At Crafting with Dragonflies we're celebrating all things Baby-themed with a Challenge & a Blog Hop! There are tons of prizes to be won, but you need to enter the challenge and the blog hop. One lucky commenter on each blog will be eligible to win a special prize (besides the great main prize). The sponsor for this stop on the hop is Handmade Harbour, who are offering six digis!

To complete the hop, go to every blog and collect each person's "secret words"...once you've done that, just think about numbers and Babies and maybe Google those things to find the final clue. Please don't share the secret words in the comments, but do leave a comment on each blog to let us know you visited. You'll send the final clue in an email to our wonderful blog owner, Hilde...but go to the main blog for full details. Plus, Hilde has an adorable free digi for you as well.

Order of the Baby Blog Hop

Part of the fun of this blog hop isn't just sharing our baby-themed projects...we're also sharing baby stories & photos. Here's Baby CG eating chocolate cake for her first birthday:
Because we lived overseas, and my parents' families lived in different states, I got at least three first birthday parties! My folks were always good about limited my intake of sweets, but I love that they shared this baby tradition with all of their family & friends.

Here's my project, a never-ending card:

The front features two freebie digi stamps: Baby Clothes by Crafting with Dragonflies, and Patchwork Heart by Handmade Harbour.
I stamped the sentiment (Our Daily Bread Designs) onto a die-cut piece of paper-backed fabric. The patterned papers are from my stash.

The next page features Baby in Bed with Patchwork Quilt by one of our fabulous sponsors, Handmade Harbour.

The sentiment/baby carriage digi stamp is a freebie from Bird's Cards, and the stork images are from TLC Creations.

The next page just shows off some of the pretty papers. I added some faux stitching on the striped pieces, plus some cute stickers.

I couldn't resist using this sweet Baby again for the message page.

Have you guessed my secret word yet? Please leave a comment, and then hop on over to Judith's blog to collect your next word!

Thank you for visiting, and hope you'll join our Baby Challenge & Blog Hop at Crafting with Dragonflies,
