A little, shy, fun guy - The Great Outdoors at Crafter's Cafe Challenge

The Crafter's Cafe Challenge this week is The Great Outdoors. We're sponsored by Karleigh Sue Digi's, and I used their adorable Toadstool Elf to create this scene:

The shy elf was colored with with Sharpies, fussy-cut, and backed with a shiny white paper edged with deckle scissors. It's popped up with foam tape. I made the sentiment myself, printed it on a shiny white paper, and threaded it through a die-cut fence.

The little wooden mushroom was painted with yellow Liquid Pearls and heat-embossed with a glitter powder. The inside message section was cut with a die, and embellished by hand with a blue marker.

Inspiration/Challenges:

Dragonfly Journeys #18: Men/Boys
Fairy Tale #123: Boys + Men
Sisterhood of the Snarky Stampers: Ugly Paper (Although this snow-covered mushroom, glittered, woodgrain-patterned paper is definitely unique, I certainly haven't used it like I thought I would!)

Flowers through the Window - Guest Desginer at Crafting by Designs

Back in June, I was super-inspired by my neighborhood and a sketch at Crafting by Designs, and was so pleased to have it chosen as a Spotlight project for that challenge as well as to be asked to be Guest Designer.

The theme this week at Crafting by Designs is Windows.

I used this beautiful digi stamp from Make It Crafty to create a Shaker Card filled with flower-shaped sequins.

My mom is visiting, and we've had tons of crafting fun. This card was made during a crafting retreat this weekend with friends at a hotel, and I didn't bring my Copics so I just used Mom's Sharpies. I'm pleased with the result and the company was fantastic! I also colored the white lace & wood embellishments with Sharpies. I added different colors of Flowersoft with Glossy Accents.

Challenges/Inspiration:
Crafting by Designs: Window
Chocolate, Coffee & Cards: A Flower In Your IMAGE
Morgan's Art World: Use 3 of Something (3 wood embellishments) + digi stamp
Sisterhood of the Snarky Stampers: S is for....Shaker

Thank you for visiting & I hope you'll join us at Crafting by Designs,

Pilin' on the Beaded Sequins

The theme this week at Pile It On is Sequins and/or Beads. We're sponsored by Paper Sweeties, a fun stamp & embellishment company. To help celebrate their third year in business, I made a birthday card featuring some of their lovely seam binding.

The teapot stack die is from Memory Box, and I created the background for it by embossing a thick, textured white paper, fussy-cutting it, and coloring it with Copic markers. The die cut itself is a shiny off-white cardstock. The doily/burlap-patterned paper is from Recollections, and I slightly distressed the edges to give it a more fabric-like feel. The sentiment are plastic embellishments that I heat-embossed with a glittery white powder. Each green, flower-shaped sequin has a pink or baby blue seed bead in the middle.
