Cute Halloween - Love to Create GDT

I'm very pleased to be guest designing with the Love to Create team this week! I was one of the prize winners for Love to Create's "Fancy Folds" Challenge, and being invited to GD was icing on the cake. 

The Love To Create Challenge theme this week is "Halloween" and our sponsor is Stamp Fairy, so I used their adorable Barry Halloween digi stamp:

The bear was covered with Teddy Bear Flower Soft, and the bag was colored with Copics. I ran the ghost-sheet layer through my sticker machine and covered it with white satin ribbon (May Arts). I cut out the eyes and covered them with Glossy Accents.

For this Tall Step Card, I used Glenda's tutorial at The Stamp Camp. The base DP is from October Afternoon's Witch Hazel Collection, and the three coordinating DPs are from Graphic 45's [out-of-print] Magic of OZ Collection. I edged everything with a bright orange ink.

The Clear Shapes are from Making Memories (they are actually adhesive, so I left the backing on), and the tiny license plate is by Junkitz. The little candy-corns are from a rubber stamp set by Studio G, and I colored them with Sakura glaze pens.

Naturally Spooky

This week at Pile It On! we're celebrating Halloween & Day of the Dead & all things Cute & Creepy. Our sponsor is Dilly Beans, and she has some of the best digis out there for this theme. I used Witch Hat Skulls Stack (Dilly Beans digi #465):

I printed the skull image on shiny white paper (Recollections) and heat-embossed it with black power. (There's a simple tutorial on how I heat-emboss digi stamps on the bottom of this post.) The corner spider webs were heat-embossed as well, using a rubber stamp from All Night Media. I fussy-cut the skulls and hats separately, and ran the pieces face-down through my sticker machine. I covered the skulls with different glitters from a sample pack in my stash (I wish I had super ultra-fine glitter!). The hats were colored with Copics before adding the adhesive, and then covered with glow-in-the-dark glitter for a late-night surprise!

The little skullie guy is from a pre-colored Dilly Beans set that I've had for a few years. I colored his outfit with Copics.

Po'grrl Magic Picture Card

I tried my hand at a "Magic" or "Changing Picture" card, per the handy directions at SplitCoastStampers, but I don't have a good way to print/stamp onto acetate. I could have waited until this weekend, when I could pick up some transparency paper, but I didn't wanna.
So I made this version, which doesn't require marking on the acetate. And, like a good Po'boy sandwich, it winded up being relatively expensive and complicated, but Oh! so worth it.
I used Therese Travis's Decorative Cat digi stamp (now available on Etsy!), and actually "printed" the image with Cricut markers on my Cricut Expression. I think it adds a "stamped" feeling.
To do something like this yourself, import your digi stamp image file into SCAL, size it, and then make a copy and apply "blackout". Ta-da, instant mask!

At first, I was just going to use bright colors, but then I saw the Midweek Throwdown Halloween Challenge at the Operation Write Home (OWH) blog and just had to make the card for this challenge. So much fun!
