Anything but a Card at International Art & Soul

This fortnight at the International Art & Soul Challenge our challenge is Anything but a Card. This challenge will last 4 weeks.

I made a tissue box to help decorate for my son's first birthday party! We had a superhero theme and I had a ton of fun making themed foods and decorations. It was a wonderful celebration and we're so proud of our little superhero!

Here are some other photos from the party. Seems like yesterday that my design team sisters at IAAS welcomed our little dude into the world with a blog hop in in his honor!

We dressed up as She Hulk, the Hulk, and Bruce Banner!

Wild Paradise with the UnstampaBelles

Our theme this month at the UnstampaBelles challenge is Paradise Pretties and Tropical Delights, with the optional twist of Into the Wild. You need to follow the twist to be considered as the DT Favorite, but you only have to follow main theme to win our prize. And remember, no stamps!

The "wild" flamingo is a woven decal. The mug/straw/pineapple dies are from an Elizabeth Craft set. I die-cut the letters from a yellow patterned paper.  I added some mulberry flowers and accents with a gold pearl pen.

The base card is made with a double-sided paper from Graphic45; check out the pretty inside:

Fierce Knights -- UK Myths & Legends at International Art & Soul

This fortnight at the International Art & Soul Challenge our challenge is UK Myths & Legends.

I chose the legend of Saint George and the Dragon. The dragon-patterned paper as well as the sentiment stamps are from Echo Park. The other papers are from Graphic 45. The base card and pop-up element are cut using and Elizabeth Craft die set. I had lots of fun making this card, and it's for a very special someone for his birthday.

Frosty Friends -- Coffee Loving Cardmakers

http://coffeelovingcardmakers.com/
It's that time again: the Autumn/Winter Blog Hop with the Coffee Loving Cardmakers! I always enjoy playing along.

The sentiment is from a Stamps of Life set. The adorable paper is from Doodlebug Designs. The digi stamp is "Snowman Cocoa" from Bugaboo Stamps (although I'm not sure that it's available anymore.) The coffee bean die cuts are from an Elizabeth Crafts set; the shapes are from a Sizzix set.

Am I the only one who like iced coffee drinks even in cold weather‽ The original digi stamp has the snowman holding a stack of marshmallows, but I fussy-cut the frosty beverage from the Doodlebug paper for a little personalization!

Autumn at International Art & Soul

This fortnight at the International Art & Soul Challenge our challenge is Celebrate Autumn.

We got a mailing from our gas company about safety, and when I saw this scratch-and-sniff element I knew I just had to use it for a fart-themed card for my aunt and uncle!

Thankfully Blue at the UnstampaBelles

Our theme this month at the UnstampaBelles challenge is Well, Thank You, with the optional twist of Brilliant in Blue. You need to follow the twist to be considered as the DT Favorite, but you only have to follow main theme to win our prize. And remember, no stamps!

For the background panel, I used a beautiful stencil that was gifted to me from Hilde, a craft-blogging friend from Australia. Hi, Hilde! I inked the shiny white paper with TH Distress Inks, and then, because I don't have any good sprays right now, I sprayed it with water & bleach. This technique had the nice side effect of inspiring me to bleach my sink, and now it's so shiny and bright!

The sentiment is cut with a Spellbinders die. The top layer is a scrap of the patterned paper I used for the base card. I also cut it from a thin cardboard to add some dimension.

A Batty Birthday -- Halloween at International Art & Soul

This fortnight at the International Art & Soul Challenge our challenge is Halloween.

My cousin's birthday is on Halloween, and I always have fun making her themed cards. For my birthday, a crafty friend gave me a bunch of Halloween stuff from Michael's. My cousin has a "wicked" sense of humor, so it worked perfectly!

Manly Poops -- Tags at International Art & Soul

This fortnight at the International Art & Soul Challenge our challenge is Tags. You can make a tag or add one to your project.

When I saw the current "Gross" challenge at the Sisterhood of the Snarky Stampers, I knew I had to use the cute poop emoji die that I borrowed from my mom. It's part of an emoji die/embossing set from Sizzix. I had lots of fun!

The sentiment is from Viva Las Vegas Stamps, and reads: The only time a woman can change a man is when he's a baby! I have a 9-month-old son, and our life has definitely become pretty poop-centric. The last time I used this stamp, it was for a card for his now 6-year-old cousin!

Jet Spoon Birthday -- Things with Wings at International Art & Soul

This fortnight at the International Art & Soul Challenge our challenge is Things with Wings.

My mom gave my nine-month-old son a set of fun airplane-shaped spoons, and I couldn't resist using the packaging to make a card for her friend's great-grandson's first birthday!

I filled it with lots of microbeads & birthday-themed wood pieces. The frame border was hand drawn with a white gel pen.

I created the background by using the plastic packaging. I Inked the plastic in order to make a mask for the pop-up Jets, but I like the Technic so much I ended up using it to create my own background. I used to different blue distress inks.

Piggy Birthday -- Lots of Layers at International Art & Soul

This fortnight at the International Art & Soul Challenge our challenge is Lots of Layers.

For this shaker card, I the Piggy Bank 2 stamp & die set from The Stamps of Life. I was so excited to use this set and had a lot of fun with it. I used real coins: a USA penny, a Canadian penny, a Mexican peso, and a Vietnamese dong! Funny what you end up collecting; I've never even been to Vietnam!

Tea in the Watercolor Garden at the UnstampaBelles

Our theme this month at the UnstampaBelles challenge is Tea in the Garden, with the optional twist of Watercolour Wonders. You need to follow the twist to be considered as the DT Favorite, but you only have to follow main theme to win our prize. And remember, no stamps!

I used watercolor paper and a die/embossing folder that came from a Papercrafting magazine. I colored the raised portions with Stampin' Up! watercolor crayons. I used the coffee cup sticker as a mask before watercoloring the background, and then removed some of the pieces to reveal the white paper. The sentiments are also gold stickers.
