You're so sharp -- Good News at the UnstampaBelles

Our theme this month at the UnstampaBelles challenge is: Good News with the optional twist of: Make Your Own Background.
You need to follow the twist to be considered as the DT Favorite, but you only have to follow main theme to win our prize. And remember, no stamps!

I made the "You're So Sharp!" sentiment with the Giddyup Std font and then die-cut. I made my own stencil with a cactus die from the same die set, inked it onto a coated Core'Dinations cardstock, embossed with with a cactus-patterned embossing folder, and then sanded the the raised pattern.

Peter Rabbit Fun -- Inspired by a Book at International Art & Soul

This fortnight at the International Art & Soul Challenge our theme is Inspired by a Book. Check out the beautiful sample projects by our Design Team at International Art & Soul, then use your imagination and have fun!

I chose the book The Tale of Peter Rabbit by Beatrix Potter. Mom recently gave me an issue of Make Special Cards magazine that came with a ton of Peter Rabbit-themed papers, toppers, and stamps! She also lent me this Window Pop die from Fun Stampers Journey.

A Tea Party at International Art & Soul

This fortnight at the International Art & Soul Challenge our theme is A Tea Party. Check out the beautiful sample projects by our Design Team at International Art & Soul, then use your imagination and have fun!

I had so much fun with this theme, although at first it was very challenging. I made the teabag label myself, but that's a real teabag: I emptied the contents & filled it with sequins!

Sweet Summer Shaker

I just discovered the challenge blog Festive Friday: they offer fun biweekly inspiration lists based on fun holidays & celebrations. Along with the current Shaker Card challenge at Daring Cardmakers, I pulled out stuff from popsicle-themed items from my stash & made this summery card.

The big sunny sun is the tag from a baby gift from my parents... I couldn't bear to throw it away, but I figured I could compromise and recycle it! I filled the shaker with tiny fruits from Queen and Company & used some of the them for the corners; the popsicle shaker set is also from the same company.

The popsicles were cut from 3 papers with a Spellbinders die; I added glitter to the tops & copper ink to the stick part.  The sentiment is die-cut from a scrap of paper. The front DP is from Simple Stories; for the base card, I used a long-saved paper from Doodlebug Designs; I'm trying to celebrate my paper collection instead of hoarding it!

Inspiration/Challenges:
Festive Friday: (Fri 2W, C3) Inspiration #64: Sweet Sentiment,  Die cut, Summer Fun (+ Ice Cream, Shaker card)
Daring Cardmakers: (Fri, C5) Shake It (any project with a shaker)
