This is the 2nd week of our Use a Die challenge at One Stitch at a Time (OSAAT), and one lucky winner will receive the super-duper September prize pack. StitchyBear's Digi Outlet has hundreds of digital products from many wonderful artists, one of which is Coosty Creations. 

I really enjoy using Coosty Creations' digis & paper packs (see my past projects here), so I was excited to get a chance to use her newest collection, Sitting Waiting.

My OSAAT teamies CraftyGirl and Anne Lise have also made unique projects using this fun digi collection!

I made a Potty Training Congratulations card... I don't have children, but I know what a frustrating process it can be for child and parent. So it seems like as good an occasion to celebrate as any!

In PhotoShop, I digitally paper-pieced some of the digi paper into the digi stamp image. I then printed it and colored the image with Copics, using the blender-texture technique for the floor. I used some pink flocking on her pretty boots.

Although it's almost impossible to see, I added lace & a blue background to to the window. I painted the toilet with Glossy Accents.

I created the door flap in SCAL and cut it on my Cameo. The door is cut from a shiny Core'Dinations cardstock and embossed with a SU! woodgrain embossing folder. I made a doorknob with a brad & made a little "privacy sign" with a Doodlebug tag die. I hand-wrote the sentiment with a purple glitter pen. The stars are cut/embossed from a toilet paper tube with a PageMakers die. I heat-embossed two of them with hot pink and purple.

ATC featuring Aud Sentiments

The current challenge at Aud Sentiments is "Any Sentiment but Birthday" and they are offering a wonderful freebie wordart by Marie-Clare. Since the theme of one of my group's ATC swaps this month is "Stars" I couldn't resist combining the two to make this shaker-ATC:

I assume this quote is from "Yellow" by Cold Play, and although I'm familiar with the song and incorporated yellow stars into the design, the blue coloring had nothing to do with the video theme (a happy coincidence!) I printed the sentiment onto a shiny white cardstock and attempted to heat-emboss it in yellow, but it didn't work so well this time. However, I liked the effect and was still able to ink it with blue inks. I also sprayed it with blue Glimmer Mist.

The frame is two layers of a glittered cardstock; the top piece is inked to be slightly brighter. I cut the apertures with a Spellbinders die. The plastic cover is cut from a scrap packaging plastic, and the shaker is filled with chunky glow-in-the-dark glitter.

The wood stars were inked with a yellow ink & heat-embossed with Holographic embossing powder. I also added some gem strips. I added an outside layer of blue tulle.

Pilin' on the Pencils

Our theme at the Pile It On! Challenge this week is Pencils: You can use an image of pencils, color with pencils, or even use an actual pencil! We're sponsored by Jellypark, and I used their great Craft Basket digi stamp from their store:

I colored the image with pencils, although I did use a Copic marker for the background. The ribbon elements are fussy-cut & colored with watercolor pencils. The craft box is pieced with a Graphic 45 DP and decorated with some green Sparkly Fluff.

I made the ruler embellishment with yellow paper and medical paper tape. I inked the tape with a darker yellow and stamped the ruler (from the Sew Pretty set from Cardmaking & Papercraft magazine) on it with black ink.

The "Creativity Takes Courage" quote (by Henri Matisse) comes from Graphic 45's Typography collection, and is popped up with foam tape to secure the easel. The scissors are a Silhouette die cut, cut from gray paper & sprayed with Glimmer Mist.

I can't remember where I got the base card DP... if you recognize it, please let me know! I added some drywall tape that I colored with a green marker. The flowers & buttons are from my stash.

Teatime - Using Dies at OSAAT

OSAAT September Prize Pack

After a summer break, we're back with challenges at One Stitch at a Time (OSAAT)! Our theme this fortnight is Use a Die. StitchyBear's Digi Outlet has hundreds of digital products from many wonderful artists. Even if you don't use a store image, you'll still be in the drawing to win the super-duper September prize pack.

I used this whimsical Chores digi by Stitchy Stamps and I "stamped" it onto the teacup using the acetate rub-on technique. The teacup is a rubber stamp from the China Fragments stamp set by Heartfelt Creations (it actually has a coordinating die that is on my wishlist!), and I masked the center design with blue tape in order to place the digi. I've used 2 dies on this project: a large Sizzix doily and a Doodlebug tag die.

The color of the teacup was inspired by Delft Blue; my folks were married in Holland and received the most gorgeous Delft Blue Earthenware vase as a wedding gift, and since this is for my Mom I knew she'd like the concept. I colorized the Stitchy Stamps image in Photoshop using a suggested CMYK color build for Delft Blue. I inked the teacup with a mix of blues to match the computer-generated color.

The sentiment (from a freebie set from Cardmaking & Papercraft magazine)was stamped in pink onto a metal-lined tag. The pretty tulip-themed background paper is from Lili of the Valley/NitWit Collections.
