Just a Note - Anything StitchyBear Goes!

This week at One Stitch at a Time (OSAAT), it's Anything Goes with a StitchyBear Digi Outlet image. StitchyBear's Digi Outlet has hundreds of digital products from many wonderful artists. The DT is offering many fun prizes, so you'll definitely want to join in~

This week, Melissa chose Red Headed Woodpecker by Floppy Latte Designs for myself & our teammate Tracey. I decided to try my hand at coloring on cork:

I used a pressed-cork sheet (Magic Scraps) and ran it through my HP printer with...not too much trouble! I colored it with Copics and a BIC Wite-Out pen.

The printed tissue paper is by Tim Hotz, and I won it from Opus Gluei (thank you Rosemary!), and I tore the edges with a Fiskars Tear Edger. I attached the front piece with gold brads (and ZipDry glue).

The sentiment is from a Ladybug Crafts Ink set (via Simply Cards & Papercraft) and is heat-embossed in gold. It's easier to read in real life, but I do like the effect.

The flower was cut with the TH/Sizzix Rosette die from actual sheet music. I used Glossy Accents to add some gold mircobeads. The leaves were cut with a Sizzix die from a Sprite can and heat-embossed in gold.

For the scalloped red piece, I cut the cork sheet with yet another Sizzix die, and heat-embossed it in red.

I hope you'll grab your favorite image from StitchyBear's Digi Outlet and join us at OSAAT this week.

  5. Like the look of the stamped & colored Woodpecker on the cork. Wonderful texture w/ layers & gold look to your creation. Not tried putting cork thru printer. I have an HP printer. Where did you buy the cork so thin? Did you use the 4" x 6" photo tray or did you use the larger tray & use the guide bars to size to the cork? Curious what size piece of cork you put thru the printer?
