Orange you glad it's Autumn?

This week at Pile It On, we want to see your sense of humor. We're sponsored by Hambo Stamps, so I designed this "piano-hinge card" around their perfectly-silly Orange/Yam Kids digi stamp set:
If you follow this blog, you may remember my recent Autumn Door card. I used the same basic design, as well as more of the great digital papers from Doodle Pantry's Autumn Star digi stamp pack.

There's a good tutorial for a piano-hinge binding at Making Mini Scrapbooks, and I added front and back covers as well.
Update: Rachel left a lovely comment on this post, and described this as a Star Card. I guess it is, isn't it?! LOL I totally did that by mistake! I come from a book design background, so I just thought of it in terms of the binding. I probably would have added a few more pages to make the "star" open fully, and I'll definitely have to try that!

Here's the card, page by page:
The door is made with a Core'dinations cardstock, and lightly sanded with sandpaper. The die cuts are from Memory Box's Small Madison Window die. The "knob" is a hitch fastener from Tim Holtz Idea-ology. The leaves were cut with Tim Holtz/Alterations' Fall Garland die.

The "punchline" sentiments came with Hambo's Orange/Yam Kids digi stamp set, so I used the font Century Old Style Bold for the first page of the joke.

The images with cut out with Deckle scissors and colored with Copics. The fruit costumes were printed onto Core'dintions tone-toned cardstocks. I sanded the orange a little bit to add dimension. For the yam, I crumpled up the piece and then sanded it.

I made a little message section for the final page.

I used regular wooden kitchen skewers for the binding. Since I notched the pages, I colored the skewers with a Gold Leaf pen first.
