Something New at OSAAT

OSAAT January Prize Pack
This fortnight at One Stitch at a Time (OSAAT), our theme is Anything Goes with Something New. StitchyBear's Digi Outlet has hundreds of digital products from many wonderful artists. Even if you don't use a store image, you'll still be in the drawing to win the super-duper January prize pack.

My "new" item is the gold-and-glitter peel-off stickers. I also used a new transfer sheet to make this New Year's shaker card using A Toast from Reece's Scrap Pieces as well as this great freebie sentiment from Coosty Creations.

I filled the card with a mix of clear & gold microbeads.

Inspiration/Challenges:
Card Mania #64: Make it Sparkle! / Let's shine!
Creative Moments: Anything goes/ New Beginnings
Hambo Hoedown January Challenge: New Year's Stash
The Male Room: New beginnings (Few men could resist something sparkly for the New Year! I made this for a man, Roosevelt.)
Natalie and Amy's Challenge #28: All Things New!
Paradise of Stamps: New Year

Thank you for visiting, and hope you'll join us at One Stitch at a Time,

Gone Fishin' with OSAAT

This week at One Stitch at a Time (OSAAT), our theme is Anything Goes. StitchyBear's Digi Outlet has hundreds of digital products from many wonderful artists, and if you use one of our products you'll be entered to win the super-duper June prize pack of 7 digis. If you don't use a store image, you'll still be in the drawing to win a $3 gift certificate.

My teamie CraftyGirl chose this fun set for us to work with, Fishn with Ole Rover Stamp Pack #2 by Reece's Scrap Pieces, so I made this Shadowbox card:

I used the Shadowbox Card tutorial at Splitcoast Stampers, but I changed dimensions to 4.25 inches tall by 7.5 wide, scoring each long end at .75 and 1.25 inches. I cut the hole with a PageMaps die on my BigShot. The green base and blue background are Core'Dinations cardstocks. All the patterned papers, including the paper-pieced overalls, are by SMIRK. Mom sent me the actual fishing net as well as this adorable fishing pole sticker from Little B.

I colored this adorable image with Copics, using the Blender Texture technique for Ole Rover's fur. The sentiment is from the same Reece's Scrap Pieces set; I inked it with my Antique Linen distress ink pad and filled in the letters with a black PITT pen and a Sakura glitter pen.

Here's the back with a message section:

Inspiration/Challenges:
Animal Friends Challenge #15: Hobby + Animal
Aud Sentiments Challenge #109: Two Word Sentiments
Creative Moments #45: Anything goes/for the boys
Hanna & Friends: Cute Person/Animal Stamp + Paper Piecing (the overalls are paper-pieced)
House That Stamps Built DCC 618: Shaped or fun fold cards
Love to Scrap: Use a hole in your card so your stamping shows through
My Craft Creations: Always Anything Goes
Wags 'n Whiskers: Fancy Fold

Time for a new challenge at OSAAT!

It's time for a new "Use a Digi" challenge at One Stitch at a Time, the DT/Challenge blog for StitchyBear's Digi Outlet. Wow, can you believe I've been on the OSAAT team for over two years‽ From my first project to this one, I've had tons of creative fun. Also, there have been some changes to the StitchyBear sites, including a groovy new site design and an updated Design Team page.

This week I got to choose the image for myself as well as my teamies Vicky & Jennie, so we're using Leaving the Nest by Reece's Scrap Pieces

The sentiment stamp is from a CTMH set. The wooden clock face & bird are from Prima; I colored the bird with a blue glaze pen (Sakura). The metal clock face behind the star is from the Paper Studio.
I'm entering this card into the following fabulous challenges:
  1. ABC Challenges: Use 1-2-3 of something
    • 1 ribbon
    • 2 blue embellishments (gem star, and wooden bird colored with glaze pen)
    • 3 clock faces
  2. Cards in Envy: Things with Wings (this has several layers, but it's still relatively light and definitely under the required thickness)
  3. Crafty Bloggers Network: Anything Goes
  4. Pattie's Creations: Make It Sparkle + Image (There's lots of sparkle on this...the image also has gold and glitter ink on it)
  5. Sparkle N Sprinkle: Use a Digital Image
  6. Stamp n Doodle: Anything Goes
  7. There She Goes: Just Because
Hope you'll join the Use a Digi challenge at One Stitch at a Time this week (and be sure to check out my teamies' fabulous projects). For entries using a StitchyBear Store product (be sure to add a # after your name when entering), you'll be eligible for our main prize. You're welcome to enter the challenge using different products, but instead you'll be entered into the draw to win a $3 coupon to StitchyBear's Digi Outlet. Can't wait to see what you create!
