Skating Santa Gift Card Holder -- Buttons & Bows at International Art & Soul

Our theme this fortnight at the International Art & Soul Challenge is Buttons & Bows.

Santa, the sentiment, and the tree are from a Paper Magic set. The pretty blue bows came on Santa & the tree. I added blue thread to some buttons from my stash, and added them to Santa with Glossy accents. They work nicely to make him slide, too! I used a die from an Elizabeth Crafts set to make the slot on the card, and affixed skating Santa with a paper tab.

Peach & Lavendar Xmas - Christmas Card using non traditional colours at Crafting with Dragonflies

Our challenge this fortnight at Crafting with Dragonflies is to make a Christmas Card using non traditional colors.

Do you remember the SMIRK paper line? I still have a bunch of their Christmas stuff, and although I don't use it as much as I should, I always have fun when I do. I used Copic markers for the skin, some of the hair, and a few other details to make it my own. The ornament stamp & sentiment are from the "Heirloom Ornament" clear stamp set by Spellbinders. I heated-embossed the ornament with a purple-mix powder on a piece of the SMIRK paper that already included the different background patterns & that lovely glittery stripe.

Primary Cake -- November with the UnstampaBelles

This month at the UnstampaBelles challenge we're All about the Cake! The optional twist is to use only Primary Colors. You can make whatever you like without using any stamps. You need to follow the twist to be considered as the DT Favorite, but you only have to follow main theme to win our prize.

I used the last of a sheet of Imaginisce DP for the banners and little candles; those little buggers took a while to fussy-cut, but it was worth it! Check out the little faces of some of them, too cute. I cut the pop-up cake on my Silhouette Cameo using an SVG/SCAL file I'd had for years. The blue background paper was dry-embossed with a Swiss Dots folder after cutting the middle out. I added the border on the message section with a red gel pen. The sentiment is cut with a Sizzix die from a polka dotted paper.

Inspiration/Challenges:
Hiding in my Craft Room: Use Scraps (all the papers are from my off-cut/scraps stash)

Be sure to check out the fabulous projects by my teammates the UnstampaBelles this month!

Iguana Wish You a Happy Birthday

I recently asked one of my favorite digi artists, Ike, if she had any iguana images, and she came up with two great designs! I used her Iguana 1 digital stamp, along with a sentiment from TLC Creations and a frame from Pickled Potpourri, to make a relatively simple card for my brother-in-law.
I colored the image with Copic markers, and used rubbing alcohol & a terrycloth towel to create some visual texture. The background papers are trimmed to line up.

Here's our pet iguana, Percy. The birthday boy gave him to us in August of 2000!

Pile It On: Large Sentiment

Update: I was a lucky prize winner for Ike's Celebration Challenge!

Ornament Gift Card holder - Use your Stash plus Bling at Crafting with Dragonflies

Our challenge this fortnight at Crafting with Dragonflies is to Use your Stash plus Bling on your card. Everything I used has been in my stash for at least a few years!

The ornaments are created with outline stickers from Mark Richards & mircofine glitter. The brad moves to open the card.

The patterned paper  is from SMIRK. I added a message section on the inside; the idea is to include a gift card.
