Stars & Stripes at the International Art & Soul Challenge

This fortnight at the International Art & Soul Challenge our challenge is Stars &/or Stripes.

The star-shaped shaker was made with a Tonic Studios set. I filled it with multicolored stars & a gorgeous sequin mix from Spiegelmom Scraps that I recently won from Stick It Down. I wasn't sure how much I would use her sequin mixes, but I'm hooked! They are so great for filling shaker cards and you receive a good amount.

I hand-cut a star from a striped paper, and traced it onto several colors of paper. After cutting the papers, I used a star-patterned embossing folder on half of each. The background is a glittery black Core'Dinations cardstock, and I heat-embossed some stars from the same stamp set as the sentiment. I admit there's a pretty heavy The More You Know vibe, but I like it!

Homey Wedding Wishes

My cousin's youngest daughter is getting married and of course I had to make them a card.

The bakers twine background paper is from Photoplay; the house paper is from Graphic45; the sentiment panel is from Lori Whitlock/Echo Park; and the die-cut sentiment is from a Sizzix set. I die-cut the heart button from a real rood sticker that I backed with chipboard and embellished it with a sturdy twine. Had a lot of fun making this, and wish the Happy Couple all the best!

Pilin' On the Holiday/Vacation

The themes this month at Pile It On are Transportation and/or Holiday/Vacation. You can choose one or both themes, and you may enter the challenge as many times you like, as long as you are inspired by at least one other Challenge theme. We're sponsored by Dr. Digi's House of Stamps, and I used his fun scene with Lifeguard Lyn.

The sentiment was inspired by the sign at some swimming pools: WARNING No Lifeguard on Duty. My sign reads: WARNING Nervous Parent on Duty.

The blue panel is a piece of a blue towel; my Father-in-Law has gifted us many of these over the years, and thought it would be perfect tp include on a Father's Day card for him. He's always been amazingly supportive of my crafting & I know he'll get a huge kick out of this.
The palm tree shaker is from Queen & Co. and I filled it with stars & a gorgeous sequin mix from Spiegelmom Scraps that I recently won from Stick It Down. The Father's Day sentiment is from a Dilo en EspaƱol stamp set. The banners are cut from rubber strips.

Rain or Shine -- Guest Designer at Sognando Scrap

http://sognandoscrap.blogspot.com
My summery mason jar shaker card was the 2nd Place Winner for Sognando Scrap Challenge #66, so I was invited to be a Guest Designer! Their theme is "Time for you" and they provided me with this sweet image.

The papers are from my stash; I added some blue Memento ink to the darker pieces. The wooden clouds & sun pieces are from Latina Crafter. I added glittery raindrop stickers to the corners.I filled the shaker with lots of little shaped sequins. I made a frame with Liquid Pearls. I gave this to my neighbors, who are always there to help us out!

A Little Pickup

My Mom got me this wonderful die/stamp/shaker card set from Jillibean Soup, and I couldn't wait to use it!

The road-inspired paper is from Cosmo Cricket; the vehicle-patterned/blue dotted double-sided paper is from Photo Play. The tiny pickup trucks were cut on my Bigshot with a die from Taylored Expressions. The flower on the top was die-cut from white metal, and I added some yellow Stickles to it and the little wheels.
