Autumn Colors at International Art & Soul

Our theme this fortnight at the International Art & Soul Challenge is Autumn Colors.

I used the "Tree Pop-Up" die set from Karen Burniston/Riley & Company for the inside. Tying the tiny swing & tire onto the tree wasn't easy, but so worth it! The sentiment is a freebie from Paper Makeup that I downloaded way back in 2011. I used a shaker box kit from Creative Imaginations, but covered it with my own DP. It's filled with metallic sequins. The die-cut embellishments were cut with a Tim Holtz die. The papers are from Adornit & Upsdaisy. The small trees on the inside are from the "House Pivot Panels" die set from Karen Burniston/Riley & Company.

Rainbow Neighborhood -- Thankful at Crafting with Dragonflies

Our challenge this fortnight at Crafting with Dragonflies is Be Thankful.

I used the "House Pivot Panels" die set from Karen Burniston/Riley & Company for the pop-up inside. The house on the outside is from the "Holiday House" die set from Karen Burniston/Elizabeth Crafts, and house-shaped message section on the back is from the "Gingerbread House" Fold-a-long die set from Jen Long/Sizzix. The grass is also from a Karen Burniston/Riley & Co. set. The base card is a double-sided paper from the "Summer Party" collection from Michelle Coleman/Echo Park. I hand-cut the kites on the front, and made the sentiment with the font Inkpen2 Chords. The borders are pre-cut burlap that I colored with Copic markers.

Fruity & Fun Trick or Treating

Couldn't resist making one more Halloween card this year!

I made the pumpkin pail using Newton's Nook snowglobe die set. Did you have one of those when you were  kid? I did, and used it for years! I used a piece of orange paper from my stash which was, coincidentally, a scrap from my fishbowl Valentine using the same die. I filled it with Queen & Co. fruit sprinkles. The curved edge was cut with the "Nature Edges" die set from Karen Burniston/Riley & Company.

I used off-cuts from the front to decorate the inside:

Pilin' On the Fantasy

The themes this month at Pile It On are Black, Purple & Orange and/or Fantasy. You can choose one or both themes, and you may enter the challenge as many times you like, as long as you are inspired by at least one other Challenge theme. We're sponsored by Ike's Art, and I used her Mermaid 3 digital stamp.

I colored the beautiful image with Copic markers & added a mix of purple mica & glitters from my stash. The  double-sided patterned paper is from Authentique's "Sea-Maiden" collection. The sentiment is from Echo Park's Alice in Wonderland set. The frame is a die from Elizabeth Craft's "Lace Rectangles" set. I used fun foam to pop it up to make a shaker portion, and filled it with glass & colored microbeads, and more of the purple mica/glitter mix. The frames were cut from an ombre, ocean-patterned paper. The "tail" & bottom of the sentiment piece were made from a scrap of cork decorated with the Frantage method; Mom & I took a class on it years ago and now I'm glad I kept it in my stash for so long!

Musical Thank You -- Brightly Golden with the Unstampabelles

Our theme this month at the UnstampaBelles challenge is Golden Glitter or Foiling, with the optional twist of White & Gold Only. You need to follow the twist to be considered as the DT Favorite, but you only have to follow main theme to win our prize.

The music notes were cut with a Spellbinders die (another find from that Stamp Expo I keep talking about!)  I created & cut the sentiment on my Silhouette Cameo, and heat-embossed it with gold glitter. The star patterned on the gold foil paper is an embossing folder. I filled the shaker with gold star confetti and more music notes.

Shaky & Batty -- Orange & Black at International Art & Soul

Our theme this fortnight at the International Art & Soul Challenge is Orange & Black.

I made a shaker card using a kit from Clear Scraps. I inked the edges of each wooden piece with black ink. I heat-embossed the top section with a black glittered powder. For the inside, I heat-embossed the Halloween sentiment in neon orange on shiny black paper and then traced & fussy-cut the shape. I filled the shaker with clear glass beads, orange & black microbeads, and glow-in-the-dark glitter. I recently won this cute ghostie Washi tape. The die-cut bat is from a Lawn Fawn set. All the patterned papers are from Graphic 45.I even decorated the inside:

Shining the Hope Signal -- All Pink at Crafting with Dragonflies

Our challenge this fortnight at Crafting with Dragonflies is to use All Pink on your card.

This is a card I've been meaning to make for a long time! I made a step card from 5.5 x 11 inch piece of paper, scoring at 3, 6, 7.5, 9, 10, 11. The Batman symbol is from Cricut; a friend let me use her subscription to buy it during a craft day, and later I found out that she doesn't like super heroes, so I wanted to make something positive with it. She passed away a couple of years ago, so I'm making this for our mutual friend who likes both Batman and pink!

I heat-embossed the outer section of the Batman symbol, as well as where the words are, in neon pink, and heat-embossed the central section with a clear glitter powder. The treeline, cityscape, and fence dies are from Memory Box; the grass die is from Elizabeth Crafts.

Pilin' On the Black, Purple & Orange

The theme this month at Pile It On is Use mostly Black, Purple & Orange (does not have to be Halloween; other colors used in image OK). The only really rule is to be inspired by more than one papercrafting challenge. We're sponsored by Ike's Art.

I made this card for my neighbors...they have cats & I have a dog, and we've watched eachother's pets over the years. I printed the TLC Creations sentiment ("Awesomeness runs I'm the family") on orange linen paper. The cat & dog and both paw prints are from a clear stamp set that came with a crafting magazine. I heat-embossed the paw prints in neon orange & purple, and then inked each piece with 2 shades of each color. I heat-embossed the pets in black on silver mirri cardstock. I filled the Shake It shaker with 3 colors of microbeads. I die-cut the frames in & around the shaker; the outer frame is a Graphic 45 paper. I'm pleased with how this slightly funky card turned out!
