Autumn Door

This week at Pile It On, we're "piling on" the theme of Leaves. Our sponsor is Doodle Pantry, so I used their Autumn Star digi stamp pack:
I used Memory Box's Small Madison Window die for the door window, and the embossed/cut-out pieces for the bottom of the door. This worked so well on a 3 x 6 card base (Core'dinations shiny white). I inked the edges with Antique Linen distress ink. The "knob" is a hitch fastener from Tim Holtz Idea-ology.

The stars are separate layers, and I printed the bow separately on red mulberry paper. The image is colored with Copics, and I used Aida cloth and blender solution to texture the stars. The berry-bits are colored with Sakura gel & glaze pens.

The leaves on the door & inside the card were cut on my Bigshot with Tim Holtz Alterations' Fall Garland die from paper covered with Rolo foil.

Steampunk Horse - Anything Goes at OSAAT

This week at One Stitch at a Time (OSAAT), it's Anything Goes. StitchyBear's Digi Outlet has hundreds of digital products from many wonderful artists, and if you use one of our products you'll be entered to win the super-duper main prize.

I used the fun Steampunk Horse Digital Stamp and Paper Pack by Coosty Creations:

I just love these digi papers! Her papers always print out so nicely. I digitally placed the horse PNG onto the backing paper, printed it on Neenah cardstock, and colored it with my Copics. I edged it with scalloped scissors.

I cut the gears on silver cardstock (Recollections) on my Cricut. I used a sentiment sticker on the metal tag (Making Memories), and added a little Tim Holtz game spinner.

The gold ribbon is dry-wall tape colored with a Gold Leafing pen.

90th Birthday Card

A woman from my mom's church is turning 90, so at Mom's suggestion I'm sending along a card.

I used my favorite Sizzix die to make a flip-flop card. I stamped/heat-embossed directly on the card base. The flourish stamps are from a lovely CTMH set that I won from Heart2Heart. The sentiment is from a Clear Arts Stamps set. The "Happy Birthday" is a silver sticker that I colored with a pink Copic. The corners are punched/embossed with a Fiskars punch. I added some adhesive pearls, and a message section on the back (not pictured).

Furry Friends at Sunshine

It's time for a new Sunshine Mail Foundation Challenge (September 15 - October 1). Our theme is "Furry Friends" and the only real rule is that you send in at least one card (it doesn't have to be the card you enter in the challenge; Donation guidelines here).

We're sponsored by Whimsy Stamps, so I used their adorable Pet Friends digi stamp:

Each animal has its own, fun expression, and it was a lot of fun to color with my Copics. I fussy-cut it put it on a white die-cute that I embossed/cut with my BigShot. The left-hand corners (inspired by the fun sketch at CLP) are punched/embossed with a Fiskars punch. The dog-bone brads are actually in two tones of red, which is difficult to see in this photo.

The sentiment is by TLC Creations (thank you, Paulette!), and the double-sided paper and dog-print ribbon are from my stash.

Pikachu Dreams at OSAAT

I had so much fun making my Story Time card with for this week's Use a Digi Challenge at OSAAT that I just had to use it again! I don't know why, but I just had to make those slippers into Pikachus!
I typed up the sentiment and printed it onto shiny white cardstock (Recollections), and heat-embossed it in dark blue (Stampendous). I then stamped the "Dreams" clear stamp (K&Co maybe?) on top, in bright blue ink (Memento). I used a Marvy punch for the corners.

I colored the image with Copics, and added some detail with glitter pens. The dress is paper-pieced with a SMIRK paper, and the pillow is from a Graphic 45 paper.

I made the Poké Balls by cutting 3/4-inch circles on my Cricut, using the Camping Critters cartridge. I cut the circles in half, glued them to the card, and strung a a ribbon across them (it's actually a white ribbon that I colored with a black Copic marker). I added some black gemstones in the centers.

The background was embossed in my new favorite Cuttlebug folder, the Charles. The adhesive gem swirls are from my stash.

OSAAT is also having a DT call; love to have you on the team!

It's time for a "Use a Digi" challenge at One Stitch at a Time (OSAAT)! I love stamping, but digi stamps are so much fun too, and StitchyBear's Digi Outlet has hundreds from many wonderful artists.

Isn't she just too cute‽ The papers are by Graphic 45 and/or from my stash. The stickers across the middle, as well as the little bit of text in the corner, are by Jillibean Soup. The holographic gold stickers are form my stash; I won them a couple of years ago. The "Story Time" sentiment is form a Clear Art Stamps set, and is stamped in brown Memento ink on an IO die cut.

Tea time! Bugs & Critters at Sunshine Mail

Happy September! It's time for a new Sunshine Mail Foundation Challenge (September 1-15). Our theme is "Bugs & Critters" and the only real rule is that you send in at least one card (it doesn't have to be the card you enter in the challenge; Donation guidelines here).

We are sponsored by Wings and Willows, so I used their Sleep Tight digi stamp:

I just adore this DP by Jillibean Soup; I wish had more from this collection. I've been slowly using this lovely 12x12 sheet. I used some of the scrap to make the flower.

Keeping with the Tea theme, I decided to try my hand at the Teabag-Folding Technique. I used the Kite Fold Flower Tutorial at Sandy's Space.

The Bowl of Sugar and Spoon on the sentiment banner are Starform outline stickers. I cut the piece with an amuse studio die, stamped a sentiment in brown Memento ink, and added a border with a Gold Leaf pen.

Tin[foil] Lantern

This week at the Pile It On! Challenge, our theme is "All that Flickers," so I decided to do something a little different and made a faux tin lantern:

The box opens flat, so it's really easy to put in a small battery-powered tea light:

The pieces are cut from a silver paper and covered with heavy-duty tinfoil. For the sides, I stamped flowers in black StazOn, colored them with Sharpies, and then pierced the outlines with my awl. I also created a border with my embossing tool.

For the lid, I embossed the tinfoil-covered piece with a Cuttlebug folder in my BigShot. I attached a tin-can flower (which was cut/embossed in my BigShot) to the top with a "hitch fastener" by TH/Idea-ology that I colored with a silver Sharpie.
