I first saw Blocks Cards at Calla Lily Studios, and thanks to the great tutorial on YouTube by Papercrafter 45, I've had a blast making them!
My husband's cousin and sister are both having girls named Sofia/Sophia in the next couple of months, so it was easy to make matching cards:
I cut the letters with my Cricut. The cards fold flat, so they slip easily into an envelope.
I had so much fun making these, I decided to whip up two matching ones with Sofia's sisters:
As you can see, it's pretty easy to add a block. My mom pointed out that you could build a card with many blocks by simply widening the card width (you can keep it at 12 inches, and then add blocks 1.5 inches at a time). But I wanted these to fit in a regular envelope. Going to have to try a large one though!
