There's a Party Going On Right Here -- Graduation at Internation Art & Soul

Our challenge for this fortnight at the International Art & Soul Challenge is Graduation.

I was inspired the Inspiration Station to use music along with the Graduation theme: The inside of the shaker contains the lyrics of "Celebration" by Kool & the Gang; I stamped & heat-embossed the musical notes on black paper for the top of the shaker.

You're so sharp -- Good News at the UnstampaBelles

Our theme this month at the UnstampaBelles challenge is: Good News with the optional twist of: Make Your Own Background.
You need to follow the twist to be considered as the DT Favorite, but you only have to follow main theme to win our prize. And remember, no stamps!

I made the "You're So Sharp!" sentiment with the Giddyup Std font and then die-cut. I made my own stencil with a cactus die from the same die set, inked it onto a coated Core'Dinations cardstock, embossed with with a cactus-patterned embossing folder, and then sanded the the raised pattern.

Inspiration/Challenges:
Tuesday Throwdown #463: (Tue) Use a Stencil (I used a die as a stencil)

Be sure to check out the fabulous projects by my teammates the UnstampaBelles this month!

Graduation Bouquet -- CAS + a surprise inside at Crafter's Cafe

We have an especially fun challenge for you at The Crafter's Cafe Challenge: CAS + a Bright Surprise inside. Here's the recipe: Make a card, with the front in a CAS style with mainly a black and white sentiment, but decorate the inside with bright colors, embellishments, etc. Doesn't that sound fun‽

I used "Spring Cart" from Robin's Fetish for this graduation pop-up card.

I made a little diploma scroll from copy paper, distressed the edges with Antique Linen ink, and stamped one of my favorite sentiments in black (Clear Art Stamps). I made the mortarboard with a square of black cardstock, a black gemstone, and a die-cut tassel.

The Sky's the Limit! - Congratulations at Crafting with Dragonflies

This fortnight at Crafting with Dragonflies our theme is Congratulations. It's the season for graduation cards,so this was made to work for almost graduate:

I made the mortarboard with a square of black cardstock, a black brad, and a die-cut tassel. The background is a white-frosted blue cardstock (Core'Dinations) that I embossed with a cloud folder & sanded. The embellishments are adhered with foam for a bit of dimension.

This design is inspired by traditional mortarboard toss.

A Special Graduation

Our gardener came by the other day to cut the grass, and he mentioned that he wanted a card for his granddaughter. I've told him to ask anytime (I give him and his wife cards from time-to-time), so I was thrilled to say the least! So he cut the grass, my dogs barked (they especially love to bark at him; I tell him it's a compliment!), and I made this card with a pop-up money holder:

I took the photo really early in the morning, so the lighting is off... But there's a lot of shimmer. I used this DP for my sister-in-law's graduation card, and had just enough left over for this project.

He asked specifically for the card to show how proud he is of her, and I found the perfect sentiment at TLC Creations. I printed it on shiny white paper and cut it with a banner die (Spellbinders). The balloon is a die cut from Scrapbook Attic, and the "celebrate" is actually a metal embellishment that I heat-embossed with blue & green glitter (Peacock embossing powder). I used some Turquoise Stickles on the corners.

I made a little pocket for the inside, to tuck some money into:

He seemed to like it! Seems like an excellent trade for me never having to learn to use a lawn mower, ha!

Inspiration/Challenges:
Going Grey With Scrap-Creations: Graduations,Wedding or Anniversary
Happy Campers: Use Metal ("Celebration" is a metal embellishment)
Shopping Our Stash #103: Graduation or Anniversary (the patterned DP is from my stash)
